Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund (WTF)
Funding assistance for MWI’s Negotiation Skills
Workshops
MWI is now an approved provider of negotiation
services through the Massachusetts Workforce Training
Fund. Financial assistance is available to ALL
Massachusetts-based organizations and organizations with
Massachusetts-based employees, regardless of the size or
nature of your organization. The Commonwealth of
Massachusetts will contribute half the cost of your
training with MWI as part of their commitment to
improving the appeal and strength of the workforce in
the Commonwealth.
Financial subsidization of MWI’s negotiation workshops
is available through the following programs:
WTF Express Program
What are the general guidelines and who is eligible?
Every single applicant for these funds will be approved
as long as you meet the following guidelines:
- Any company with under 50 employees
- Any company with a negotiation training
initiative valued under $30,000 in a 12 month
period
- Any company either based in MA or with employees
in MA
- Any company current in their contributions to
the State’s Workforce Training Fund (all companies
in MA are required to contribute to this fund – all
you have to do is prove your payments are current)
- Applications must be received at least 6 weeks
prior to your training initiative.

WTF General Program
What are the general guidelines and who is eligible?
- Any company with over 50 employees
- Any company with a negotiation training
initiative valued up to $1 Million;
- Applications can be submitted at any time, but
will be reviewed during the following times of year:
- For initiatives under $50k – the beginning of each
month - For initiatives over $50k – March, July and
November
Organizations looking for funding must submit an
application which outlines:
- Organizational needs towards improving the
strength of their workforce;
- How those needs will be met through this
initiative;
- What the outcome will be and how it will be
measured;
- Confirmation of their status as current with
contributions to the WTF;
- Applications are judged based on the merits of
the proposal;
Approximately 60% of all applicants to this program
receive funding and those who do not receive a
“statement of deficiency” which outlines why the program
was not funded with an invitation for resubmission.
