MWI Women’s Negotiation Program
The MWI Women’s Negotiation Program offers free negotiation skills workshops to income eligible women in Boston. The program focuses on providing participants with a foundation for effective negotiations, as well as identifying solutions for managing the gender biases many women encounter in their negotiations.
By the end of the program, participants will gain the skills to prepare for, conduct, and review their negotiations. They will also have the opportunity to apply their negotiation skills in small group exercises and simulated role play cases. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the particular barriers they have faced in negotiations and explore effective negotiation techniques for managing those barriers.
In particular, the training improves participants’ skills in the following areas:
- Preparing effectively for negotiations
- Communicating effectively
- Influencing and persuading others
- Dealing with difficult tactics
The MWI Women’s Negotiation Program has partnered with Dress for Success Boston, the Ana B. Stearns Foundation, and Economic Mobility Pathways. MWI has also offered the workshop to students and employees through Gordon College’s Women In Leadership program.
